Daniel Lioneye

Daniel Lioneye is a side project band from the popular Finnish group HIM. Musically, the band produces Hard rock/Sleaze rock with blues based guitar solos throughout.

The band was formed in 2001 and the members consist of Daniel Lioneye, also known as HIM’s Mikko “Linde” Lindstrom, on vocals and guitar, Mikko “Mige” Paananen on bass and Ville Valo on drums. The band has released one album in September 2001, The King of Rock’n Roll. The title track to their album later became the theme music for MTV’s Viva La Bam for it’s entire season run.

On April 27th, 2010, Daniel Lioneye released their second studio album Vol. II an extreme metal album with a revised line-up of Linde on guitars, vocals and bass, Burton on keyboards and Bolton of Enochian Crescent on drums. Vol. II takes a drastically different turn that The King of Rock’n Roll, incorporating various other genres in, most notably black metal. In 2011, Daniel Lioneye introduced Manu as their lead singer/screamer and Seppo as their drummer, not only resulting in an edgier line-up, but also becoming the embodiment of the Scandinavian sound.

The Latebirds

THE LATEBIRDS is a Finnish roots rock quintet that was founded in Helsinki in 2000. The band has released three albums to date and toured in Europe and North America with the likes of Wilco, Patti Smith, The Pretenders, The Posies, Soundtrack Of Our Lives and The Jayhawks.

The Latebirds is known for its dynamic albums and energetic live appearances. These five Finns also happened to be the first Scandinavian artists to perform at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, a.k.a. Grand Ol’ Opry.

Last Of The Good Ol’ Days - The Latebirds new album - was completed with producer Jim Scott (Wilco, Tom Petty, Dixie Chicks, Chili Peppers) in Los Angeles.  Featured guests include Wilco-guitarist Nels Cline, Tom Petty’s longtime organ player Benmont Tench and singing actress Minnie Driver.  The album will be released in North America & Europe in May 2011.

In addition to the new album The Latebirds recorded a new EP at Levon Helm’s studio in Woodstock with an all star guest cast including performances by Kris Kristofferson, Levon Helm and Gillian Welch’s sidekick Dave Rawlings. These tracks will be included on a bonus disc together with the new album.

Luke Rathborne (planetary group)

Dog Years // I Can Be One

Going For Adds 3/7 and 3/8

Luke Rathborne writes songs about life, and life is rarely simple. On his split-EP, he defies today’s cookie cutter flavors, preferring to hold true to his artistic vision – a vision that embraces the zen of Leonard Cohen and the weathered tone of Bob Dylan. He shimmers, because his songs emit an incandescent glow as warm and inviting as they are naked and vulnerable. It’s not about finding answers to life’s questions, it’s about shedding light on life’s experiences. Seeing how they make us better for the wear while they ruffle us around the edges.

Check Out: “Dog Years” (#2), “Pantomime Fears” (#3) “Motor City” (#6)
